Massage Therapist Course Description:
*There is a manditory Prerequisite of Massage Technician Certificate: (120 hours total)
1. Anatomy and Physiology (50 Hours)
A study of human anatomy and physiology with respect to cells tissues, nervous, integumentary and other body systems. Teaching modalities will include video, lecture, body assessment, and palpitation. Book required.
2. Acupressure 1: (45 Hours)
This class teaches the five-element theory, the location and function of acupoints and meridians. The application of the major points and the stimulation with and hand methods is emphasized. Teaching modalities will include video, lecture and clinic hours. Book required.
3. Assessment and Treatment: (25 Hours)
Consist of supervised clinic hours. Assessing the human body and giving massage, also learning the charting on SOAP forms.
4. Foot Reflexology: (25 Hours)
Learning the location and their therapeutic benifits, and Foot Reflexology massage. Teaching modalities will include lecture and supervised clinic. Book required.
5. Pathology: (25 Hours)
25 hour lecture. Course focuses on disorders and disease plus the need to promote and ensure client safety and well being. Subjects such as symptoms, syndromes, treatment concepts, indications and contraindications for massage are covered.
6. Deep Tissue Massage: (45 Hours)
Learn the techniques and trigger points of this massage. Teaching modalities are lecture, video, and supervised clinic.

7. Business: (25 Hours)
Learn to market your business, and learn insurance reimbursement and what it can be applied to. Teaching modalities will consist of video lecture and lab. Book required.
8. Lomi Lomi: (25 Hours)
Ancient Hawaiian massage teachings. Modalities are lecture, video, and supervised clinic.
9. Polarity (25 hours)
10 hours of lecture, video, and 15 hours of supervised clinic.
10. Crainial Sacral (25 Hours)
Hands-on clinic. No book required.
11. Advanced Techniques: (65 Hours)
Includes the following: Passive stetching, myofascial release work, counterstrain techniques, manual lymph drainage, introduction to the use of color and sound.
