Massage Technician Course Description:
Anatomy and Physiology: (50 Hours)
A basic working knowledge of the bones and muscles of the human body, and how they function. Teaching modalities will include video, lecture, palpitation, body assesssment and movement. Books required.
History and theory: (1 Hours)
Lecture on the history of massage and the therapeutic benefits.
Nutition (3 Hours)
The working of the digestive system and effects of nutrition on the health of the body. Teaching will consist of lecture.
Ethics: (2 Hours)
Lecture on professional behavior and responsibilities in a clinical environment.
Demonstration and Practice: (64 Hours)
INstructor demonstration and supervised clinic practice is a valuable part of the CMT program. Students will begin clinic hours on their third day of class.
